Welcome to 1878
They say the west was won. But in Salvation, the world of the late 1800s in the Wild West is alive and waiting for you. Walk down main street past tumbleweeds and townsfolk, sheriffs and shootouts. Inside the saloon, the piano plays a raggedy tune just for you. Grab a glass of whiskey and sit in on a fast-paced game of cards. Just look out for the cowpoke across from you. There might be an ace up their sleeve. Or a gun under the table.
Salvation is a wild west live action experience as imagined by the pop culture of yesterday and today. It’s high noon gun battles and cattle rustlers, frontier justice and wilderness adventure. Rooted in the history of the American expansion, Salvation takes a look at life in a small town in the middle of nowhere, on the trail from the east to parts unknown.
Choose from over two hundred characters you can become, from cowboy to townsfolk, and embrace your inner Wild West self. Pick your white or black hat and customize your experience in this destination vacation meets wild west living. Dodge tumbleweeds and bar brawls, listen for the jangle of spurs under the hot Texas sun, and become the character you’ve always wanted to be. For one weekend in November, take a trip away from your everyday life and help us make the town of Salvation come alive.
Because this is not a movie you just watch.
In 1878, you are the protagonist of your story.
Welcome to Salvation. Discover the West as it was, it wasn’t, and how it could have been.
Step back into the Old American West

“Welcome to Salvation” is a four-day live action roleplaying experience set in a fictional town outside of Austin, Texas, USA. You will join people from across the world as you don your costume and experience the golden age of the cowboy, re-imagined through a mix of history and pop culture. This isn’t a historical reenactment, but an adventure-filled wild west story created by you. Together, we’ll weave stories together to create your weekend-long reality.
Who you are in your everyday life doesn’t matter in Salvation. In the old west, small towns were considered by many as a chance at a new life, so our western fantasy will be the same. While the world of the real 1878 was full of inequality and social injustice, our town of Salvation is a place where you can live the cowboy adventure you want regardless of the real-world historical biases of the time. The old west might not have treated everyone equally, but our Wild West will get the chance to honor the memory of the past without erasing it or needing to relive it. History and all of its inequity might be the backdrop for our wild west adventure, but you will craft the new mythology and history of this western frontier. Within the boundaries of Salvation, you are who you want to be.
Join us and live a weekend in the shoes of a cowboy under the hot Texas sky. Imagine yourself in days gone by, when people looked west and imagined new lives and unexplored horizons.
Pick up your hat and your six shooter. Be brave. Be bold. Tell your own story.
You too can find Salvation.

RACE & GENDER
Who you are in your day to day life doesn’t matter in Salvation. Here we have made the conscientious decision to strip away social constructs and real-world barriers to make for an experience that focuses on who you want to be in the mythology of the wild west.
We are building a western fantasy built on the old American dream that everyone can grow up to be someone, and that all people are created equal. In Salvation you get to tell us who you want to be, and together we will weave new stories.
ROOSTER & BUTCH
Introduction to LARP
The CEO and Founder of Dziobak Larp Studios, Claus, appeared on the TV show ‘Rooster & Butch’ (Episode 8). If you saw us on the show and would like to know more about larp, this is a great place to start.
The larp that Rooster, Butch, Gil and the others played in the TV show was a fast-paced western adventure. What you see in the show is an event that lasts a couple of hours – while this is a four-day full-on immersive event.
For a short introduction to larp, we recommend this video. It is by the Danish larp designer Bjarke Pedersen from Participation Design Agency, who (while not part of this project) explains larp in a good way!
This live action role play experience will be inspired by some of the cinematic “masters” of pulp western television and media.
Our goal is to design an environment that will use the primary design of the wild west town that is J. Lorraine with specifically chosen color themes, and focuses for each of the structures, decorations and props.
